Hi Idris Elijah, I want you to know I worked on your tips from your Emotional Intelligence newsletter. Doing the pause at work is having good results with a coworker who finds pleasure in making our lives miserable! I no longer allow her to steal my sunshine. Speaking of sunshine, I agree with the tips you provide here, especially the idea of a change of scenery to get out of autopilot and be more creative. If I’m feeling stuck I put everything down and go for a 30 minute walk in the park and it does wonders for my mental health and creativity. I come back to the challenge in front of me more energized and focused. Thanks for the helpful tips today!

That’s outstanding! I’m so glad the pause is helping you keep your sunshine and stripping this coworker of their power. Changing scenery is a great one, and I think it’s impressive that you have the ability to step away from your work to go on a 30 minute walk to clear your head and reenergize. A lot of people don’t have that skill as natural as I feel you display. Massive kudos! And you’re welcome, it’s my pleasure 😇🙌🏾

I really like the idea of setting restrictions in order to achieve a goal. When I was in school I almost always waited until the last day to write a paper or study for an exam. However much time I had was the amount of time I needed. By setting wild restrictions I can break through mental barriers and get a lot more accomplished. These are fantastic ideas Idris. Thank you for the informative read!

You’re most welcome Brian. I’m glad you see the value in setting restrictions. This is one of the most powerful tips I shared in today’s newsletter. Sounds like this helped you then and will help you in the future. Massive kudos to you! 😊🙌🏾

What I will remember most about today’s newsletter is the importance of having fun. Too many times I’ve seen a problem as something that’s a burden but really I should look at it as an opportunity to brainstorm new and exciting ideas. All about having the right mindset and asking better questions like you said. I’m gonna give these ideas a try Idris Elijah!!

Brilliant takeaway, having fun is soooooo important and I’m so happy you see that Brooke. It all boils down to your mindset indeed. I wish you the best when trying out some of the other ideas I mentioned. I know you got this, Brooke! 😊🙌🏾

Wow this really made me think! When we are young we are often surrounded by people (family and teachers especially) who may mean well but end up teaching us what isn’t possible instead of what is. It becomes the foundation of limiting beliefs, thinking that we can’t do this or can only go this far. These limiting beliefs can end up staying with us unless we have the self awareness to create our own path and find what works best for us. Breaking creative barriers really does start with us challenging the “rules” and and shifting our perspective back to our childlike wonder where EVERYTHING is magical and possible. Well done Idris Elijah!

Very well said Jody! You are right, breaking creative barriers does start with challenging the “rules” and shifting our perspective back to our childlike wonder. Everything is magical and possible. 😉🙌🏾
