As always Brooke, you’re brilliant in your own right. Love this for you. 🤗

I love that excitement is one of the filters. Too often I downplay my job in favor of what I think I “should” do. With music I’ve debated between three ideas so I just scored them and I already have a clear winner. I’m going to use this filter moving forward in whatever creative projects I want to work on to see what deserves my energy first. Thank you for the valuable information Idris Elijah!

I appreciate how you’ve given us a practical framework to choose which project to focus on first. It takes the emotion out of choosing and makes the process clear. When I look at impact, excitement and sustainability the answer is growing my new X page. I’ve been enjoying posting about Big Brother every day and so far the results have been promising. I can sustain this after the season ends by writing about music, sports and pop culture and work on growing an audience. I love how you broke it down to make these decisions feel doable instead of overwhelming. Thanks for the great insights today Idris!

I always tell myself I’ll work on “the big novel” someday but I also have ideas for short stories and a newsletter of my own. Scoring them out just now was eye-opening and the short story actually won. It has immediate impact, I’m excited about it and I can sustain it alongside my 9-5. Suddenly the path forward feels obvious and I don’t feel guilty about not tackling the novel yet. I’m printing this framework and keeping it above my desk. Thank you for making the process simple Idris Elijah!

You’re most welcome Chloe! I dealt with a similar dilemma, not too long after getting a 9-5 and it really is a an eye-opening experience. So glad you found this shorter life useful as well. 🙃🙌🏾

When I paint I often start three or four canvases at once. I’m going to use this filter to decide which piece deserves my energy first. This gave me a decision making tool I can use over and over, not just with painting. Impact, excitement, sustainability… I’m going to put these three words at the top of my journal every time I brainstorm new writing ideas. I’ve enjoyed all the great tips this week Idris Elijah so thank you!
