Starting a fitness journey is something we can all relate to and have empathy for—it’s tough if you’re looking for a quick fix. Sounds like taking the long-term approach is working for you too. That’s outstanding! I couldn’t be more happy for you Jody! Brilliant work 🙃🤗

I felt this! It’s so easy to fall for the “quick fix” promises, especially when we’re hungry for change. I love that you shifted gears, did the research, and committed to a slower, more solid path. And now you’re learning how to build iPhone apps just because! Thats a lot of freedom just from learning.

I’m working on building better self-care habits right now. I’m learning that I don’t need to overextend myself to feel worthy. I’m also learning to be patient during the process just like you talked about in your story. Thanks for sharing this today Idris Elijah!

You’re so right Chloe, it is easy to fall for a “quick fix” when you’re hungry for change. And we’ve all been there a few times. I appreciate your kindness.

I agree, it is a lot of freedom just from learning. It’s mind boggling how much joy I found in learning after realizing these lessons. More people need this content in their lives. I’m pleased you found it insightful.

It’s been a pleasure 🤗🙃

Thank you for your honesty in sharing your story! I loved that this wasn’t just about coding, but about learning how to learn. We don’t talk about that skill enough. I really appreciate the idea that we are allowed to evolve when things don’t go as planned. Lately I’ve been working on learning about financial literacy and budgeting. It’s been a challenge unlearning some bad habits and creating new systems that actually stick. Your story today reminded me that trial and error isn’t failure at all, it’s part of the growth process. Well done Idris Elijah!

You’re so right Maria, we don’t talk enough about how to learn. The fact you’re learning about financial literacy and budgeting is outstanding! More people need to learn this. There was a book that I read last year called “I Will Teach You To Be Rich” by Remit Sethi. It was a game changer for me. Check it out. I feel it will help you as it helped me. 🤗🙂

Your story is a great example of what is means to grow through challenge, not just around it. I really connected with the idea that resilience is more valuable than any shortcut. These days I’m focused on managing my emotional and mental well-being. Learning when to rest, when to ask for help and how to trust myself again after burnout has been a slow journey. But reading your newsletter reminded me that small consistent steps really do add up! Very inspiring read Idris!

Thank you Brian! I’m pleased you connected with this newsletter. I love how you put it, “grow through challenge, not just around it.” Couldn’t have said it better myself. 🙂

I can really relate to your story Idris Elijah! I went through something similar when starting a fitness journey a year ago. I hired a personal trainer without really doing any research on the trainer or having any clearly defined goals. All I wanted at the time was to lose a few pounds and look nice in a bathing suit lol. I realized about a month later that I had made a mistake. I love how your turned your disappointment into determination too! I’ve now been watching a lot of YouTube and TikTok videos on working out and proper diet and have a good friend who goes to the gym with me. She’s in great shape and has given me very helpful feedback! I’m now thinking long-term fitness and health, not a quick fix like before. Congrats on all the success you’re having now and thank you for sharing these tips with us!
