This really spoke to me. I’ve been trying so hard to be the best mom I can be for my daughter, but between perfectionism and a draining work environment, I’ve lost touch with that inner voice. I like how you show that being still isn’t giving up. It’s getting yourself in alignment. It reminded me that presence matters more than pressure. That presence will help me improve myself and lead by example for my daughter. Thank you for this Idris Elijah!
Excellent takeaway Maria! You’re really connecting the dots with what I’m saying and even on things I haven’t written about yet, such as perfectionism. Stillness holds within it forgiveness, patience, love, that’s childlike wonder we should be fighting harder to cultivate in ourselves and children. You’re doing better than you give yourself credit. Love this for you! 🤗🤩
I’ve been having moments of restlessness lately but I’m looking at it differently after reading this newsletter. Restlessness isn’t something to manage, it’s something to answer! I know what it’s like to ignore the thing calling to you for so long it starts to feel like noise. I have some vacation time coming later this month and I plan to not only sit on the beach doing some journaling but also spending some time with my guitar making some music. I’m going to get still and see where the curiosity leads me. I enjoyed this newsletter Idris Elijah and hope you have a great weekend!
Well said, “restlessness isn’t something to manage, it’s something to answer.” That’s exactly what I wanted to say but said beautifully. Spending time with your guitar is an excellent idea! Music tends to heal the soul and what a skill to hone. So pleased you enjoyed this newsletter, have a wonderful weekend too! 🥹
My best friend has reminded me that I need to lean into stillness more. That I’ve come so far already and things have always worked out, even when it didn’t feel like they would. Reading this felt like a second nudge from the universe to stop gripping so tight. I love how you described stillness as the highest level. It’s not giving up. It’s trusting and having faith. It’s the best reminder to start my day. Thanks Idris and congratulations on releasing your masterclass today!
Great takeaways Brian! Sounds like you have a best friend who really cares about you to have pointed out something so nuanced. He’s a keeper! Thank you, it was a long time coming. So glad it’s out in the world 🌍
This really built on me working on seeing myself not just as someone who wants to write, but as a writer who shows up with intention and trust. Your reminder that stillness is the highest level really hit me. I don’t have to force it, I just have to stay aligned with who I’m becoming. Can’t wait to check out your masterclass and hoping to grab it soon. Congrats Idris Elijah!
Fantastic takeaway Chloe. Being a writer is tough, but it sounds like you’re navigating it with precision and purpose. That’s wonderful! I know you’ll enjoy the masterclass. A labor of love ❤️
