This really resonated because I’m a Libra, the sign of balance. I can see now that my creative goals will grow faster when I stop chasing balance and start finding alignment. I’m shifting my focus from trying to “balance” everything with my X page to building in alignment with what I actually value. It’s about aligning my creative goals with who I am, not what I think I should be doing. I’m looking forward to seeing how this goes so thanks Idris for this insightful perspective!
I’ve been chasing balance for years, between being a mom, my 9-5 and my own identity. And every time I got close, something tipped the scale again. I can see I’ve been trying to divide what’s actually one life. Alignment will let me integrate my roles instead of juggle them. I can be present with my daughter and still build my dreams. Not because I’m balanced, but because I’m intentional. I’m going to work on alignment this weekend so thank you for sharing this Idris Elijah!
I used to schedule my life like a spreadsheet. Everything was neatly planned, color-coded and completely lifeless. Then I’d wonder why I still felt empty even when everything looked balanced. I now see it’s because I was living by numbers instead of values. The alignment mindset forces me to ask: Does this matter to me or does it just look good on paper? This has brought me a lot more peace. On a side note, your course has done the same for me. I’ve gotten so much out of it and have read it several times! Thank you for consistently giving us thought provoking and helpful content Idris Elijah!
Mmmh, so glad this brought you more peace. I’m even more pleased you got so much value from my course/ebook! And you read it several times?!?! That’s incredible! Thank you! 😊🙏🏾
I love this! Reading this made me realize how much I’ve idolized the word “balance.” I thought if I could just get the ratio right, I’d finally feel calm. But it’s exhausting chasing something that doesn’t exist. Alignment feels more human to me. It gives me room to breathe, to have messy seasons where I’m not “balanced” but still deeply connected to what matters. There’s so much freedom in shifting the way I’ve been thinking. Thank you for another fascinating read today Idris Elijah!!
This made me think about the way music works. No song is balanced, it moves through highs, lows, quiet and chaos. That’s what makes it beautiful. After reading this I’m seeing that life’s the same way. I used to feel bad when my focus swung too far toward work or creation but now I see those are just different movements in the same composition. It’s rhythm, not rigidity, that keeps me in tune. I really enjoyed this perspective and you’ve given me a lot of think about. Thank you Idris Elijah and have a great weekend!
