I juggle having a 9-5, raising my daughter and finding time for creative work. A lot of times I’m running on fumes so the idea that I can access creativity just from brief resting is so freeing! I’m definitely going to try an Edison nap during lunch and see what happens. Thank you for introducing an idea with so much potential Idris Elijah!
I’m so pleased you find the idea of the Edison nap freeing. It certainly can be. You’re balancing a lot and I can’t wait to hear how this technique aids you on your quest to greatness 😎
I never thought a nap could be a creative tool, but this actually makes a lot of sense! I love that it’s both low-effort and backed by science. Letting go, even for a minute, can often bring clarity. Thanks for this information Idris Elijah and I’ll be testing it out for sure!
I’ve definitely fallen asleep holding my phone and woken up with weird ideas. Didn’t know that was a thing! I’ve been stuck in my head lately so this came at the perfect time. I’m gonna try this Edison nap and see what comes through. It feels simple yet powerful. A very interesting discussion Idris!
I’ve tried some “boost your creativity” hacks that ended in frustration but this one stood out to me. It makes a lot of sense that the brain’s magic would live in the space between waking and dreaming. I’m going to add an Edison nap to my afternoon ritual starting tomorrow! It feels like a more nourishing way to get reconnected to inspiration than staring at a screen all day. Definitely worth a try. Thank you for the inspiration this morning Idris Elijah!!
Yeah, there are a lot of hacks out there for boosting creativity, and most of them are inconsistent and do end in frustration. But I’m pleased you’re wanting to add this to your afternoon ritual and try out the Edison nap for yourself. Looking forward to hearing how it does 🤗
