I used to think I needed constant stimulation to stay creative but I’ve realized that quiet time is where my ideas actually form. Solitude lets everything I’ve taken in finally settle and once it does, clarity always follows. Yoga has been such a great outlet for me to have that quiet time as well as journaling. It’s helped so much with my painting! I enjoyed reading about your journey with stillness and clearly it has done wonders because you have now reached 100 subscribers! Well done Idris Elijah and thank you for another insightful and reflective newsletter!

Constant stimulation is a modern trap, and I’m glad you found your way through it. Solitude does indeed allow what even taken in to settle. Couldn’t have said it better. And thank you so much, here’s to the next 100! You are most welcome 🤩🙌🏾

Reading this made me think of how my daughter and I have been taking dance lessons together. At first, I thought it was just about learning the steps. But I’ve realized that the best part happens in the quiet moments when we’re just laughing in the kitchen, figuring out a move and completely unplugged from everything else. That’s real connection. Solitude, even shared, has its own kind of magic. So pleased that the magic you bring to this community has risen to 100 subscribers Idris Elijah! Thank you for the important look at solitude and I haven’t forgotten your ebook! I fully intend to get one as long as it’s available with my next paycheck. Happy Friday to you!

I love the parallels you draw with parenthood. You’re so right that even shared solitude has its own kind of magic. Ahahah, and thank you so much, that’s really kind of you to say 🤗 And I hear you. Thank you 😊

This newsletter made me reflect how every artist needs silence the way a song needs rests between the notes. You can’t create something meaningful if you never pause to listen to yourself, your thoughts and your rhythm. Solitude is where I hear the music beneath the noise again. When I sit in that space alone melodies start to surface, ideas form and suddenly I remember why I love music in the first place. Thank you for the giving space to a topic that’s not discussed enough Idris Elijah and congratulations on getting your first 100 subscribers!

Beautifully said, Brooke, and you nailed it. Exactly that. Silence is necessary. Solitude is necessary. All to create. Thanks for the congratulations and being an OG subscriber. Wouldn’t be here without you! 🤩🙌🏾

I’ve spent a lot of time alone over the years…not in a sad way but in a way that’s become sacred to me. Solitude feels like home base. It’s where I think clearly, process what I’ve been through and find my rhythm again. When I do spend time with people after that the connection feels richer, more intentional. Like I can actually be there, not just physically but emotionally. I think that’s what this newsletter is getting at: when you know yourself deeply, you show up differently for others. The quiet makes the noise more meaningful. Thank you for sharing your stillness story Idris and I echo all the comments in celebrating your first 100 subscribers!
