I’ve been working on carving out time for playing guitar and songwriting again and your suggestion of just an hour a week makes it feel manageable. So when you said “if you’ve been thinking about getting back into music” it felt like I was meant to see it today. Don’t wait, Create! Thank you for the gentle push today Idris Elijah!

You’re very welcome Brooke 🤗 I love the idea of just starting small. An hour a day can seem like a large chunk of time. But once a week to start is a great way to ease into something that’s calling you. Can’t wait to hear some new tracks in the not to distant future 😏😉

It’s so validating to see someone else thriving by exploring a range of interests. That used to feel like a flaw for me but now I’m starting to see it as a strength. As a writer, I really resonated with your idea that progress is best tracked weekly. Some days the words just aren’t there but giving myself room across seven days gives permission to move slow and stay joyful. P.S. I would love a “Don’t wait, Create” t-shirt! Thank you for the motivating read Idris Elijah!

Exactly, it is a strength and you can do everything. You just have to be thoughtful and purposeful. What other areas are you interested in? A t-shirt, what a great idea. Let me see what I can do. 😏😉🤗

This got me thinking about how many weeks I’ve let pass without really checking in. I’m getting tired of the 24/7 hustle and am concerned about burnout. The way you broke down the weekly habit flow made it feel simple without being boring. That’s a hard combo to pull off so kudos for that. I’m going to try setting a few soft goals like you do and see how that shifts the week. I’ll let the community know how it turns out!

The 24/7 hustle is real and it’s so funny how many online gurus glorify it. Never quite enjoyed it myself. Knew there had to be something different. So pleased you’re going to give it a try yourself. Looking forward to more of your insights Ridge. Thank you 🙌🏾

Today is August 1 and it feels like yesterday was July 1. Having a weekly check-in like this isn’t just smart, it’s necessary when time’s flying the way that it does. I love that you released this newsletter on the first of a new month. The pace of life may not slow down but our choices can shape the journey. As you say, Don’t wait, Create! Appreciate the inspiration as always Idris!
