I appreciate that this didn’t make creativity feel like some huge leap. It reinforces that I don’t need to copy people I admire, I just need to borrow one lesson and try it in my own way. That’s a lot less intimidating for me when I’m juggling my 9-5, my daughter and everything else. Thank you Idris Elijah for making the process feel a little more approachable!

I can really relate to the private museum idea. I have folders full of saved paintings, color palettes and artists whose work inspires me, but this made me realize inspiration isn’t supposed to be the end goal. It’s supposed to change the way I approach my own work. I don’t need to paint like my favorite artists. I need to figure out what they’re teaching me and actually put it on the canvas. Thank you Idris Elijah for another thoughtful read!
