Your newsletter today made me cry a few happy tears. It reminded me of my former best friend when I was growing up. We were inseparable from the time we were 5 years old until sophomore year of college. She abruptly ended our friendship for some guy at our school who was jealous and controlling and didn’t want her spending time with me. I was devastated! Eventually he left her and she tried to get our friendship back but I never felt the same about her again and we are no longer friends today. The good part is that setback led me to my current best friend who is the best friend I could ever hope for! I’m grateful for that setback because I bounced back, adapted to change and ended up in a much better place in my life. Thank you for reminding me of how far I’ve come, Idris Elijah, and congrats on all of your achievements with this newsletter!!

That’s incredible! I experienced something similar but it didn’t include a boy. However, I want to thank you for sharing this experience because it sounds like you bounced back and adapted to change with grace. And you were rewarded with the best friend you could have ever asked for. That’s beautiful. And it’s my pleasure, thank you for giving this issue a read Brooke. You’re the best! 🤗

When Rue McClanahan won an Emmy for playing Blanche on “Golden Girls” she said in her speech that people had told her she wasn’t photogenic enough to be on tv. Her mother then told her that “Every kick is a boost.” The kicks led Rue to creating one of the most memorable sitcom characters of all time. We should pray for kicks because a life without them won’t have many boosts. So glad that your kicks have led to boosts with The Potential Paradox and more. Thank you for the great read Idris!

That’s a wonderful anecdote, we truly need more kicks to get the boosts we need to make it on this life. Thank you Brian 😊

I often say to myself that every setback can lead to a greater comeback and it’s so rewarding when I make it through the tough times. I really appreciate the authenticity of your newsletter, Idris Elijah! Excellent tips here, especially about self care and the importance of a good support system. Even if it’s just one person you can count on! It’s great that you have overcome setbacks too and now it looks like you will be sharing your knowledge in a masterclass soon. Inspiring read!

Navigating through this crazy thing we call life is always unpredictable - even when i think to myself that something amazing is in the works of soon coming my way, then boom! Something goes wrong and things don’t play out the way I envisioned them too. As i was reading your newsletter i was feeling every word! Although things don’t always go as planned, i truly think there is always a way to grow from the situation instead of putting your life on pause and not moving forward. Learning & growing, two things i deeply value in life. Let’s continue to turn the negatives into positives. Nice read Idris! ☺️
