I never realized how much of my identity was inherited from other people’s expectations. This newsletter really opened my eyes. One thing I’m taking with me from today’s newsletter is your self-talk is like your personal soundtrack. I have to make sure it’s uplifting, not sabotaging. It’s time to rewrite some old programming! Best wishes on your 50th newsletter Idris Elijah!
Isn't it crazy to think? They didn't mean to do it. I find it natural for most people to project. Most of us can't help it. Knowing our identity is inherited allows us to breakaway from the norm and live our lives. Self-talk is crucial to get under control. So glad you gleaned that. Thank you Jody for the well wishes 🙃🙏🏾
I really enjoyed reading about your story and the Apple journey made me tear up a little. Not only because I love everything Apple but because your persistence, clarity and commitment to reshaping your reality is incredible! The entire newsletter was strong, but your lived experience took it to another level. It made me think about my own journey and how I need to let go of old labels that don’t represent who I am today. It’s time to tell myself a different story. Thank you Idris Elijah!
Thank you so much Brooke for your kinds words. I appreciate it deeply. 😊 Letting go of old labels can really make so many wonderful things available to you. You are always welcome! 🤗
I’ve spent years trying to “find” myself too, only to realize I was buried under years of conditioning, fears and labels that weren’t even mine to begin with. My favorite section of the newsletter was the part about identity-based habits. I’m currently in the middle of redesigning my environment and shifting old patterns. It’s slow work but worth it. I really appreciate the vulnerability in the newsletter and the reminder that I’m not behind. I’m just rebuilding. Great work Idris and congratulations on 50 editions of The Potential Paradox!
Thank you Brian for your kind words first and foremost. Kudos to you on your journey to redesigning your environment, and shifting old patterns (habits). You're doing the most and that is outstanding.
I’m feeling inspired after reading today’s newsletter! I’m going to take baby steps to redesign my environment this week. Starting with replacing the doom scrolling with music and books that feed the vision of my future self. And then getting honest about what it is I truly want and what’s holding me back. Congratulations again on reaching 50 newsletters today Idris Elijah!
Outstanding goals you’re setting for yourself Maria! Swapping out doom scrolling with reading and music is a brilliant idea. Thanks again for you kind words. They mean a lot 😇
